Meditation is a practice where an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content, or as an end in itself

For me, meditation is the way to shut out any noise, put aside any emotion, clear mind, and be ready to observe my life or events from a third person’s point of view. This practice enables me to clarify what the most important things are, be relaxed, reduce stress, forgive, increase productivity and creativity, and love. I try to meditate first in the morning to start a new beautiful day.
Since many business magazines, such as Time or Forbes, and medical research show its physical and emotional benefits, the popularity of meditation has been expanding quickly. I think you might watch some interviews that celebrities or millionaires told meditation is one of the keys to be successful. Yes, Oprah Winfrey, Arianna Huffington, Steve Jobs, Jerry Seinfeld, Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Weiner, Bill Ford, Katy Perry, Ringo Starr, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, etc., do it too!
How to Meditate?
There are many different ways of meditation. My first experience of meditation was by a Buddist Monk, Zen meditation. He was from Cambodia or Thai and has been a monk more than 20 years. He taught me how to meditate. Honestly, it was hard for me. His meditation practice was conducted in a dark and quiet room for an hour. He showed me how to empty mind, focus on a certain point of the body, and how to put aside monkey mind (constant chat of the mind). As a newbie at that time, the environment just led me to sleep. I needed several exercises (and coffee) to keep me awake but calm and focused. Now I could handle one hour but still occasionally sleep.
Not all meditation is like Zen meditation. Many people use “guided meditation” which keep people listening to the guide and giving visual images instead to emptying mind. Everyone adopt a different type of meditation, and some even use a variety of meditation depending on time length and mood. I do have several short and long versions too. Some are guided audio, and others are no sound. The best way to find a comfortable one for you, I suggest you to check Youtube. There are tons of sounds or techniques of meditation. Try some. You will find the right ones for you.
